I don’t know where you may stand on the subject of whether or not our world shows a creative and deliberate design, but I can tell you there is positive evidence of design, and not chance, going on out there. My story begins with blending of two of my favourite subjects; gardening and the moon. Both have an element of “sacred truth” that really can’t be put into a scientific box and analyzed with the intellectual mind. However, this isn’t entirely true either. There is a reason to blend the sacred hypothesis with a scientific reasoning and arrive at the other end with splendid eclectic reasoning.
Planting by the moon is an idea as old as agriculture, based both in folklore and superstition, but there are scientific ideas to back it up The Earth is in a large gravitational field, influenced by both the sun and moon. Ancient man had an affinity of knowledge blending the art of gardening and the moon science. He made calendars of the year according to the Moon’s motion through the sky – though that motion does not harmonize well with the true length of the year – and some are still in use (the Jewish and Muslim calendars, for example). For me, all interaction with the plants of the wild is a synergy of interaction between me and Mother Earth. It is within the experience of this relationship that we encounter growth and understanding of our human presence and purpose.
Recently, I had a severe encounter with Poison Ivy (Rhus radicans) that has left me exploring the underlying purpose of this battle with the powerful, formidable, feminine presence of this plant. As a result of this contact, I have determined that it’s not necessarily the plant that attracts this exploration. It’s my re-action with her and how this experience offered me clues about my life journey both on a physical level and in my unconsciousness.
Before I reveal some of my deeply personal battles that reflected the symbolic poison ivy attack, it is necessary to explain her physical presence on the planet earth. As most people know, Poison ivy emits a poisonous oil irritant called “urushiol” (pronounced ooh-roo-sheeall). In its pure form the amount that could fill a pinhead can make 500 people very miserable. Even a tiny amount (1 nano-gram, a billionth of a gram) of sticky, resin-like urushiol oil will case a skin reaction. One quarter of an ounce of the potent oil would be enough to cause a rash on the entire population of the earth! Yikes!

Welcome to the Alchemy of The Raw Natural Path. My name is Leisha and I am also known as Naja. Naja is spiritual name that means Cobra in Sanskrit. The energy of this name, Naja, is a new part of my growth and understanding of this life journey. I am sure I will share more.
I have built this site as a personal reflection of my lifestyle and career. My business is called Nature’s Elements & Wholy Herb Gardens (www.natureselements.ca) located in Buckhorn Ontario. It is a unique, rather esoteric wellness centre that focussing on the living, raw and wild food way of life. I am known as The Raw Natural Path (www.rawnaturalpath.ca). I love sharing the alchemy of living a lifestyle that creates.
This site is a reflection the little seeds I personally sprinkle and how these seeds are transforming my own personal journey. Although I love teaching and sharing and caring for people, I find the more I explore and experiment and grow, I have a profound need to have my own blog page. So, this site is dedicated to my daily thoughts, queries, lessons, and ah ah moments. As is above, so is below. I find the more I delve into teaching others, the more I become a student.
I will get weird and crazy in my sharings….because sometimes you have to go to the margins in order to full grasp what is going on.
